Grounded Part 1

Alongside filling the frame, I LOVE a good snail eye view.

This is where you place (carefully) your lens of the camera as close to the ground as possible.

It is absolutely great for street photography, which I discovered at the weekend.

Sometimes you need to experiment and see what happens in your images. You don’t necessarily need to have it all figured out, it’s all about having fun and learning from your images.

Mute the tones, keep the image and pathway central – experiment! It’s all about adaptation and learning.

Watch out for my next blog post “Grounded Part 2” for more street based snail eye photography!

In the meantime, have you checked out my ebook? All this week (til Saturday 3rd October) it is £1!

Casting a Shadow

My favourite and most used editing app when it comes to photos, is Adobe’s Lightroom

You have to sign up to adobe but that’s about it! Most of the features are free, obviously you can pay to access the whole package, but I find you have more than enough features without having to pay.

On this image, I enhanced the shadows and contrast to add depth and definition to the image.

What do you think?

For this one, I added more black tones to the podiums so that the green grass in the distance stood out.

Light at the end of the tunnel!

Statue

It’s important to keep going.

If you have a dream that you wish to peruse, keep going. That’s the only advice I can give you.

There have been so many times I have failed in my photography. I’ve bought products that wouldn’t sell, I’ve paid for adverts in local magazines that haven’t received much attention and my sales haven’t been amazing.

But do I give up? Do I stop?

Absolutely not.

You see, that’s how you succeed.

Could you imagine if you gave up and the next day was your winning day?

I know it’s hard, but keep that head up.

Don’t be a statue and freeze and stop altogether.

Keep going.

Light The Way

I love to fill the frame when it comes to photography.

It is one of my favourite techniques.

Simply place your camera lens as close to the object as possible and snap away! It gives a great effect and emphasises the size.

For more photography tips, and for more details on this technique, you can now purchase my ebook for £1!

But grab it whilst you can! It’s only £1 til Saturday 3rd October!

My Place to Ponder

When I think of my happy place, I always think of Brighton Beach.

There was something so peaceful and happy about where I sat on the pebble beach – I think it was because I had travelled so far on my own and I was so proud of myself.

But another place I like to sit, is much more close to home. I could walk to this place in around 15 minutes from my house.

It may not look amazing, but it’s quiet, calm and I am amongst nature. I can sit on the bench in silence and tranquility and ponder my thoughts.

It’s a great place to watch the world go by.

Bench life is the best life.
